Kanyakumari district is the southern most point of peninsular India.
Thiruvalluvar Statue
Thiruvalluvar is the author of Thirukkural. Thiruvalluvar Statue is a 40.5 m (133 feet) tall stone sculpture of the Tamil poet and saint Tiruvalluvar. It was opened in the year 2001 Jan 1 and is located in a small man made island near the town of Kanyakumari, the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean meet.
The statue has a height of 95 feet (29 m) and stands upon a 38 foot (11.5 m) platform that represents the 38 chapters of "virtue" in the Thirukkural. The statue standing on the platform represents "wealth" and "pleasure", signifying that wealth and love is earned and enjoyed on the foundation of solid virtue. The collective height of the statue and platform is 133 feet (40.5 m), denoting the 133 chapters in the Thirukkural. It has a total weight of 7000 tons.




Vivekananda Rock It is located at the convergence of the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean in Kanyakumari. The specialty of Vivekananda Rock is Dhyan Mandapam, a meditation zone. Vivekananda Rock juts out of the convergence of the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. About 400 mts offshore the two rocky islands became the seat of enlightenment for Swami Vivekananda, an Indian truth-seeker and public reformer. It is believed that in the year 1892, Swami Vivekananda swam across the sea and meditated on this inaccessible rock island, imparting the spiritual charisma to him.

kanyakumari Vattakottai Fort is one of the forts across India. Vattakottai Fort is a most popular fort and good sea view in kanyakumari dist. It is in the control of Kerala government. Vattakottai Fort is set up as the southern most sea coast defense point by the Dutch. Fort was constructed under the command of Captain De Lannoy. Vattakottai Fort is made out of stone and it is a major tourist place. It is very attraction today. From Vattakottai Fort we can see the wonder full view of sea. Wind flows very nice on Vattakottai Fort. From here we can view Kanayakumari thiruvalluvar statue and Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant.
